I'm considering getting NordVPN to have Netflix from other countries.
In the example of Japan, are the animes all with subtitles (English is also possible) or not?
It depends on which country you are in. If you are in Japan, you can only use Japanese subtitles. In the American area of course only the English subs.
Nevertheless, I recommend you to buy a VPN because you can watch anime on other foreign streaming providers. So I watched Tokyo Ravens on Funanimation for free on full HD (USA). Or Infinte Stratos on Animelab which is in Australia.

…, although I would keep my hands off NordVPN.
There (on paper) VyprVPN is better.
I have no idea. I've been using NordVPN for 1.5 years and never had any problems with it. And a VPN doesn't really protect you on the internet. Nobody does that.

It is called "VPN service" because a "VPN" is basically just the generic term for the technology that is being misappropriated by some companies.
Nobody does that.
The Virtual Private Network.
I have no idea.
This Lithuanian https://nordsecurity.com/team Panamanian mailbox company, which buys itself up in the rankings of the (serious) trade press (heise downloads) with up to 100% commission and impresses Swedish influencers with nine-digit subscribers on YouTube, is not the best VPN service on the market.
Ok, interesting, but does it really matter which VPN you use if you only want to bypass geoblocks or something like that? But what I would be interested in is why other VPNs are better? (What are the conditions to be a good VPN?)

Yes, because it makes a difference to the size of the IP address range.

Are less involved in marketing and pass the lower costs on to the customer.
Use (too) many carriers or have reasonable peering, which is why they are not down if one fails.
Rely on transparency.
Do not rely on hosters in countries where data protection is ignored (such as the USA and the United Kingdom).
(Don't rely on mailbox companies.)
