Hey A lot has happened since Crystal was released. The anime he drowned among the actual fans, the CGI and the drawing style was quite unpopular, as well as the story was very shortened…
In the third season it made at least one new comeback that the transformations were no longer CGI and drawn.
Well, for the Sailor Moon Crystal, the film Sailor Moon Eternal is now being released (which would be Sailor Moon S from the old days).
However, this one is a mix of the old and the new Sailor Moon anime (In the style). Mixed with old music (remastered) from the old anime (intro, etc) and the drawing style a mixture of old & new and the story probably more true to the original manga (hopefully this time Tuxedo Mask will be given the true honor it deserves. XD)
There have already been a lot of small teasers and I'm convinced that the film can't be that bad and I plan to watch it. The film is slated to hit cinemas in Japan in the summer of 2021 and there are already rumors that the film will be released internationally on Netflix.
What do you guys think of it all? And would you look at it?
Here are a few links to the film's teasers.
I don't think so I actually liked the 90s anime and want to remember the series as I loved it. As such, the characters look better in the movie than they do in the re-released series.
I think the change in style is a shame (after initial doubts I found Crystal very pretty and pleasantly compact in contrast to the old series), but I will definitely take a look and buy it, regardless of whether it is published by Netflix or another streaming service. I'm already hoping for Kazé.
Crystal really didn't appeal to me at the time. I actually wanted to watch it completely, but stopped after a few episodes. Still, I give Eternal a chance - because just because it wasn't good in the past doesn't mean it will stay that way in the future. Plus, Eternal looks pretty interesting.
Yes i agree In fact, I looked at Crystal, not everything to see how it would develop and I think you noticed how bad the CGI was, that you left it. And then the teasers of the film appealed to me a little more, so I want to give the film a chance and watch it.
However, according to the story, I will not compare it with the old ones (since it goes after the manga, which is not the case with the old anime).
Unfortunately, this has been a constant "argument" since Crystal was released.
I personally will most likely not look at it. This constant back and forth of character design is just stupid. I only watched the third season once because of the new design. And now the old design is coming back because the producers buckled. -.-
The design of the 1st and 2nd season was still the closest to the manga and that was exactly what was intended, as you can see in the story.
Crystal has nothing to do with the classic anime. Crystal is a reboot (not a remake!) That pretty much sticks to the mango template.
The classic anime is "only" loosely based on it, which is of course not bad. At that time they wanted to appeal to a broad, young audience, I guess.
It's a shame, Crystal doesn't appeal to me anymore…
Crystal was never intended to be remake, and never heard of it being a remake? The new design was not well received, even if it is inspired by the manga (I think so too) that it is not implemented as well animated. The style of the manga is very difficult to replicate - the classic anime is really very loosely oriented, but the animation for it worked very well in contrast to the style in the Crystal (I think the style of the manga is not possible to translate into an animation).
But that's my personal opinion, I hope you can understand.
Of course I can understand that. Only mentioned about the remake because a lot of people still confuse it. ^^ "
Yes, the style of the manga is really hard to implement, but I saw some fan art that only changed a small part of the design and it looked really great.
The animation of the classic anime is one way or another, because back then it was still done in the traditional way. That gives a completely different feeling. Unfortunately, the characters of various people were also changed there, sometimes for the worse (e.g. Mamoru = useless).
FanArts is unfortunately no comparison with animation: / It must be feasible and affordable to animate -
But yes, Mamoru in classic anime is pretty neglected. That's why I hope that the reboot will make up for a lot of things that didn't exist in the classic anime. Except for Mamoru
