I have a fairly uneven ping in League of Legends (sometimes also when I'm alone in the apartment, but only tested with Wi-Fi) and switching to LAN cable didn't improve it. I live in a shared apartment with 4 people, so far all four have never been there at the same time (were on the Internet). We have a 50Mbit line, I'm the only one who really plays online, the others are on Netflix or something similar.
Is it more due to our router (FritzBox 7430) or is 50 just not enough for 4 (at the moment only 3) students?
Is more due to the provider
Do a speed test and check whether the 50Mbit arrives.
If there are several people on the internet, your ping may get worse because of this. Netflix is already pulling Mbit properly.
Speedtest.net gives me almost the full 50Mbit download and almost 10Mbit upload every time.
OK. It's good. Then you have to see if you don't have any process running on your computer that sparks you in between.
I'm pretty sure I had the fluctuations even after going through the Task Manager. I don't think it's my computer.
Hello IronMan1909, I think it's because your friends Netflixen. Check it out if only you are alone on the net. I think it will be normal then. And is it only for this one game?
You can of course test a new router and a 100K line, but I'm not 100% sure that this is the solution.
At the moment I only play LoL, but I can also see the phenomenon with Discord using the ping.
In the meantime, I was able to try LAN on my own and it seems to run better until noticed. I have already said goodbye to WLAN.
In this case, would a 100K line be the solution? I have already prioritized my PC in the router, but I still notice small fluctuations in the game, which unfortunately have a rather larger effect (subjective).
Hi, sorry for the late reply. LAN connection is always the best. So if it runs perfectly via LAN, you don't need a 100MBit line, do you? So I can help you with the booking.
So sometimes something happened when there were more people on the network, despite the LAN. That would be due to the line or potentially also the router?
We're now switching to Telekom in May, still 50Mbit line. Unfortunately, this is currently not possible.
Should we change to the 100Mbit line by May, would that be generally possible? So is it possible that all the bonuses are retained? (Did it via check24, there were also bonuses).
Hi, you should definitely give it a try. The challenge is, when your friends start streaming, that it can also happen with a 100K line, so more on the line than the router. If you did it via Check24, you should also have it "corrected". If I did this now, you won't get the CHECK24 bonuses.
