Assemble PC?

I thought about using the PC in my apartment. I thought I would use it for e.g. Editing pictures, cutting videos, streaming some Netflix and using other stuff. Is this combination suitable?
I don't really want a big desktop PC because it wouldn't look very nice and minimalistic. How long could I use the PC for?

Vo

A laptop would pay off more for this work.

Agree

I also have a laptop but I would like to connect the PC to the monitor / TV so that I don't always have to plug in all the cables.

Vo

And you are more flexible and can use it anywhere. And most parts are still missing on this PC.

I would rather invest in a Mini ITX PC. These are very small and can also have a lot of power, but you need a bit of experience and patience to build everything into the small housing.

Could imagine that you will quickly reach the Intel Nuc limit if you want to cut videos.

Sh

Well, I find the PC here a little more convenient for installation and a Mini-itx is actually still a bit too bulky for the room I want to set up

Sh

And I don't really care about a lot of performance and I don't use it that often

st

You have to know Okey.

But you can still take a look at a Mini ITX case if you want.

If you don't want to install a graphics card, they are really small.

Ba

Haha 32 GB RAM for "editing images". Not even a gamer needs 32 because 32 is unnecessary.

Alternative?

Ryzen 4xxx

Instead of the 32 GB RAM, I would recommend 16GB. They are clearly enough for video editing. For that I would install more than 500GB of memory. You would be particularly annoyed with video editing if you get a memory-full message while editing. You definitely can't go wrong with a 1tb M2. You can definitely stay with the mouse and keyboard, as well as the NUC (I'm a big fan of this concept). A video card might not be bad for video editing (reduces the rendering time), but it is not necessary. With video editing, you have to reckon with occasional still images or small stutters with more complex effects during playback in the editing program.
PC hardware gets old quickly, but you can use the PC for video editing for 2 to 5 years (absolute upper limit), depending on how complex your projects are.
